Tips for Successful Potty Training

Ah, potty training. Once your child reaches toddlerhood, you may find yourself faced with a long series of questions: Is my child ready? How will I know? What’s the “right” age for potty training? What’s the best method? Before your head starts spinning, take a deep breath.

If parenting lore is to be believed, potty training is destined to be a test of wills between you and your toddler. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, potty training is just another important developmental milestone for you and your child. While it may seem like everyone you speak with has different advice to offer, just know that there’s no magic bullet with potty training, and every child is different. Some children may be ready as early as 18 months, while others may not have any interest until after their third birthday. Rest assured, your child will learn to use the potty when ready.
