Children’s Health Insurance Program

The Children’s Health Insurance Program provides health coverage to eligible children, through both Medicaid and separate CHIP programs. CHIP is administered by states and can either be a separate program, an expansion of Medicare, or a combination of both.

CHIP provides health coverage to uninsured children from low-income families.
