Shopping at the commissary is a great way to save money. Commissaries typically offer lower prices on groceries and household items compared to civilian supermarkets.   • Coast Guard Exchange— CGX provides quality items and convenient services to our Coast Guard men and women, as well as authorized patrons. The CGX is one of many support organizations within the Department of Homeland Security. CGX is a military activity that operates as a business enterprise. Income generated helps maintain CGX locations throughout the United States and abroad, as well as provides the Coast Guard with supplemental funding to the MWR fund.
