DODEA Parent Guides

Overview

Department of Defense Education Activity, or DODEA, Parent Guides are grade-specific booklets designed to inform parents of DODEA’s expectations for students in the four major curriculum areas: reading/language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. These expectations are aligned with the curriculum that is used by the classroom teacher for daily instruction.

The booklet also provides examples of what children are learning in the classroom and what he or she should know and be able to accomplish upon exiting the grade. In addition, it provides suggestions and tips on how parents can help their children at home.

How to Access the Website

The DODEA website has guides in English and Spanish for grades K through 6. It also has the Red Ribbon Guide that supports the Red Ribbon Campaign — the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation.
