How to use MilitaryINSTALLATIONS
MilitaryINSTALLATIONS has three main categories — military installations, state resources, and programs and services — so it’s easy to search for what you need to know.
Military installationsMilitaryINSTALLATIONS features a sliding button function that allows users to search by installation or programs/services. You can further filter program/service searches by installation, zip code or state. Each installation’s page offers a wide selection of contacts, programs and more, including:
- An overview of the installation’s mission and resources. For a deeper dive, click “Details” tab.
- An installation website, photos and a map showing the installation and surrounding community.
- A customizable installation directory. Create and download your own booklet of key resources and contacts for easy reference.
- Local community information. The “Neighborhood Navigator” allows you to build detailed reports on community information, school information, nearby establishments and home values for 30,000 communities nationwide.
Programs and servicesSelect “Program or service” to slide the button over and find contact information for programs and services on an installation. Follow these steps to do a search:
- Select a program or service.
- Filter the location you’re looking for by searching by an installation, state, ZIP code, or all locations after selecting the program or service.
- Click the “GO” button.
State resourcesSelect “View state resources” from the MilitaryINSTALLATIONS homepage. Select a state to find these resources:
- A list of state and federal resources for military members.
- Links to community and military resources, such as chambers of commerce and military family programs.
- Local community information. The “Neighborhood Navigator” allows you to build detailed reports on community information, school information, nearby establishments and home values for 30,000 communities nationwide.
Neighborhood resourcesSelect “Access the Neighborhood Navigator” to learn more about a community or to compare communities:
- Click the “Access the Neighborhood” button. Note: a popup window will indicate you are being directed to an external site.
- Search by city, neighborhood, address or zip code.
- Find out about schools, home values, and other demographic information.
Get support from installation-specific programs and services.
Discover support services at your installation, from school liaison assistance and youth center programs for your school-age children to spouse education and career support.
